hmmm, ok i’ve been trying to turn my hand to photography for a while now and have recently been given my sisters AWESOME DSLR Cannon EOS 550D to play with. The first two pictures are very stock photography so I apologise. I also got interested in photographing water droplets after being shown a video on youtube of two droplet colliding and have tried to recreate that with what meager means I had at the time (a girlfriend, a basin of water and a handful of gravel). The results are abit sketchy most of the time but meh, heres a few to peruse while I’m learning.

My friend fatporpoise showed me this comic series called mouse guard recently and had the RP (role-play for those who dont know) book for it as well so we decided to try it out. My character, Garrow, was a lonely, slightly crazed hermit mouse that had been chosen to lead a mission because of his expert knowledge of the area surrounding his home … oh and he also had random weekly battles with a snowy owl called Brightfeather. Back to the real world, anyways i didn’t have any art up yet and i actually took a liking to this picture, which is a rare thing, and wanted to try out some colouring techniques on Photoshop. This is the result, hope you like it.

The importance of being Earnest

On saturday i went to see my good friend Harry Dell in his performance as Earnest in the Oscar Wilde play ‘The Importance of being Earnest’. I would first of all like to congratulate all of Gosforth theater group on the magnificant performances they each gave and on the enjoyment i gained me as part of the audience. I hadn’t read the play before hand and so was oblivious to the storyline but felt that even though coupious ammounts of alcohol were accidently consumed during the performance (i blame my friend Ben) i ended up grasping the over-all plot well enough and have been given a desire to read the original manuscript at some point. Once again, congratulations to the cast and if you haven’t read the script, or seen the film for those of a lazy nature, i implore you to do so.

In the beginning

Right, time to get your blog on Robert. Ok this is the first time i’ve ever done something like this so it’ll be interesting to see how it goes. I’m starting this blog as it’s a project for university. Hopefully i’ll keep up with it afterwards and it will bear some fruit … hopefully *crosses fingers*.
